Desk Copies, One Week Loans & Exams

Desk Copies are books and other library material which students may only use in the Library building. They are items which are in high demand, eg course text books or exam papers.
Most items are issued for 1 hour periods. To use a Desk copy item ask at the Level 1 Lending Desk.

Exams are in electronic format (pdf's) and are found in the Library Catalogue under Desk Copies & Exams and selecting a Department or course from the drop down lists. To download the exam you will have to login using your MIT ID and Password

Books may also be placed on "One Week Loan", restricting the usual issue period of 3 weeks to just one.

Teaching staff:
Please ensure adequate time is allowed for desk copies to be processed - it is preferable that you place material on desk prior to informing students whenever possible.
Please also ensure correct references are given to students to facilitate access to material. We will do our best to ensure desk copies are processed as soon as possible.
NB: Material is held on desk while the course is being taught and then returned to the normal shelves.
