Find library resources

Super search can search most of our library resources including books, databases, eBooks, DVDs, and articles.

Welcome to Manukau Institute of Technology Library

Our friendly, professional librarians are available to help you find, evaluate and use information effectively. We have an extensive range of books, articles and online resources to support your studies and research. We can also arrange for you to borrow items from other libraries in New Zealand and overseas.

Requesting items

By using our library catalogue you can recall items that are on loan to another student or request an item from another campus. If you have a book that has been recalled, you will be sent an email (to your MIT email address) and a text message (if you have given us your mobile number) to let you know that the item has been recalled by another borrower.

High Demand Collections

Our High Demand collections contain books and other library materials which are in high demand by students, such as course textbooks and recommended readings. High demand resources can only be used in the library. The High Demand collections are generally held behind the Lending Desk at each branch.

Interlibrary Loan

Borrow or request books and articles from other libraries in New Zealand using the interloan service. All currently enrolled Manukau Institute of Technology students can use the interloan service for study or research purposes. Visit our interlibrary loan page for more information.

Reciprocal borrowing between MIT and UNITEC

Manukau Institute of Technology students are eligible to borrow books in person from the Unitec library. You first need to fill in an application form and take it along to any of the Unitec Library branches. Their borrowing policy applies to all borrowed material.

Fines and other Charges

Recalled items are subject to overdue fines of $3 per day. Lost or damaged items are subject to charges for the cost of replacement. Administration fees will also be charged if an invoice is issued.
