Laptops / Computers

Laptops for loan

Laptops are available to be borrowed by students.

  • Students must present their student ID cards to borrow laptops.
  • Laptops must be returned the day they are issued.
  • Laptops may be borrowed until the library closes.Student using a laptop
  • The student is responsible for the replacement cost of the laptop if it is damaged, lost or stolen.

The laptops are available from the Lending desks at the following MIT Libraries:

MIT Ōtara Library (Level 2, NP Block, Ōtara Campus)

  • Students may borrow laptops for use within the Ōtara Campus and must be returned to the library before closing. 

MIT Manukau Library (Floor 2, Manukau Campus)

  • Students may borrow laptops for use within the Manukau Campus building and must be returned to the library before closing.

Computer Facilities

  • Computers are available for course related purposes in our three libraries as described below.
  • Use is generally on a first-come-first served basis and there is no time limit on how long you may use them.
  • Computer use is subject to the terms and conditions as described in our Computer Use Policy.

MIT Ōtara LibraryStudent using a PC

  • There are 8 computers available in the Library. More computers may be found downstairs next to the cafeteria.

MIT Manukau Library

  • Computers are available throughout the building.
  • There is one computer within the Library space (by the printer), provided for printing and re-setting your password.

Maritime Library

  • There are 9 computers available during opening hours.
